deputy sheriff II (lateral)
As a Deputy Sheriff II (Lateral) with Napa County, you’ll bring your experience and professionalism to a department known for excellence and community trust. This position places you immediately in a sworn peace officer role, where you’ll perform patrol duties, respond to calls for service, investigate crimes, join specialty units, and provide safety and security throughout the County.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Must currently be employed as a peace officer in a CA law enforcement agency, or have earned a CA P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate (or higher).
Must have successfully completed probation with your current or most recent agency.
Must be a legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license (or equivalent, with ability to obtain CA license upon hire).
- No felony convictions.
Must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, medical evaluation, and psychological exam prior to appointment.
